Josie Gonzales
Josie Gonzales has lived in the area all her life spending 20 years in the City of Colton, 23 years in the City of San Bernardino and the last 9 years in the City of Fontana. She is an Inland Empire entrepreneur who owns Mexico Lindo Restaurant, a family owned business since 1962.
Josie is proud to be the Supervisor for San Bernardino County’s 5th District. Supervisor Gonzales serves as Chair of the Agua Mansa Industrial Growth Association and the San Bernardino County Homeless Coalition. She is also a delegate to the Authority for the Handicapped Joint Powers Authority, Employee Suggestion Awards Committee, Inland Empire Health Plan, Inland Valley Development Authority, Mental Health Commission and the San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District Advisory Commission on Water Policy. She is also a member of San Bernardino County Association of Governments and serves as an alternate to the Local Agency Formation Commission.
Prior to being elected 5th District supervisor, she spent 7 years in public service with the City of Fontana, the last six of those as a City of Fontana Councilmember. She also served as the Chair for the Fontana Redevelopment Agency and the Chair for the Fontana Downtown Revitalization Task Force.
Cooperative efforts and building relationships on federal, state and local levels are important to her. Supervisor Gonzales believes that when we work together, we can accomplish great things. It is her goal, as the 5th District Supervisor, to help provide the citizens with a better quality of life by helping to create local jobs, provide clean drinking water, make safe neighborhoods, reduce traffic congestion and build quality housing and recreational areas within the 5th District.
She is a family oriented person who enjoys spending time with her husband Jess, her four adult children, and her five grandchildren.
