With a newly re-constructed runway, 10,000' x 200' (3,408 x 61 meters), over 200 acres of paved ramp areas, new Category I Instrument Landing System (ILS), Automated Weather Observation System III, fair weather climate and twenty-four hour per day, seven day per week service capability, SBD is a fully certified FAA Part 139 airport able to accommodate a variety of operations, including Heavy Aircraft Maintenance, Air Cargo, as well as Passenger and General Aviation Flights.

SBD recently invested over $6 million in code compliance and infrastructure improvements into its existing aircraft hangars. Facilities range from 30,000 square feet to over 500,000 square feet in the Airport's four bay heavy aircraft maintenance hangar and support areas. In addition, SBD is home to a 60,000 square foot paint hangar with the ability to accommodate 747 aircraft.
